Repeat Prescriptions

Please allow three full working days between requesting and collecting your medication.

Prescriptions which are not on your repeat list or any items ordered which have changes to quantity or dosage may need to be authorised by your own GP and will take longer than 3 days.

green_pill_spillYou can request your repeat medication by indicating the items you require on the tear-off slip of your prescription, and posting it to us or handing it in at the practice reception. If you enclose a stamped self addressed envelope we will post your prescription to you.

You can also ask your local pharmacy to request and collect your prescriptions for you. Telephone your local pharmacy for more information.

Request Prescriptions Via Phone - Prescription Ordering Line

You can now order prescriptions over the telephone via the NHS Prescription Ordering Line. This service is provided by NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group as an easier way to obtain repeat medicines, while reducing wasted medicines for the NHS.

You will speak to a dedicated receptionist, who will be able to order your repeat prescription from the surgery and either send your prescription directly to your normal Chemist or have the prescription ready for you to collect from the surgery.

If a family member currently orders your prescriptions for you, you will need to give your consent for them to continue doing this through the Prescription Ordering Line.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.
